Sadly, I will not be returning and will no longer be recommending Potbelly’s to others. While reluctant to give this place a bad review, I’m so disappointed in the way they (mis)managed the situation and neglected to address my concerns. When I asked when I’d be contacted, she told me she was entering my info into a report… It’s been 5 work days now and no one contacted me at all. Umm, wait, she never even bothered to ask me what I ordered and when I visited! I had to ask her to take down the info. She took my info and told me a district manager would contact me either by email or phone and wanted to hang up. She sound very defensive, questioning how I knew that I had contracted the sickness from them. ![]() I called on Monday and spoke to the manager. I contemplated on calling the store but I really wanted them to be aware and remove whatever ingredient that may have gone bad so no one else would get sick. I became very ill Friday evening and was out of commission for the rest of the weekend. I know I got sick from potbelly’s because it was the only meal i purchased and consumed that afternoon. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning last Friday from the «chicken and cheddar» sandwich. The service has always been pretty good and the sandwiches were decent. If you work here, you’d be able to relate with the lack of options around. I was really excited about Potbelly’s when they first opened in JC. When did it become the norm to not show your customers you appreciate them and value their patronage? Do better Potbelly, you have to do better with your staff. Not a sorry to keep you waiting, or we appreciate your patience or thank you have a nice day. As for my salad, I lost the taste for it after the crappy service I received. I was told there was cutlery in the bag, but there was none, not even a napkin. Get back to the office with my food, the soup is cold (as expected) but very salty, no chicken, and more broth than a little bit. Well I took my food and asked another young lady behind the register to bag it and then left. Why would you hand me the food without first having it bagged with the necessary condiments, and appropriate cutlery. ![]() Now, my order was placed as «pickup», which means it should have been bagged and waiting. A minute or so later she handed me the salad and walked away. Nevertheless I said Ranch and my salad was made. Then she asked what dressing would you like, I said it was on the order you received over 30 minutes ago. As she is preparing the salad, she asked, «what did your order again, a farmhouse with chicken right?» to which my answer was yes. Finally the young lady came from the back to make my salad but stopped preparing it because a colleague wanted to know about her work schedule. My soup however was made and sitting aside which mean it was cold after 25 minutes. What is the point of ordering online if I still have to wait for my food to be made when i get there?! Rhetorical, of course. When I arrived at Potbelly to get my food, the salad was not made and I had to wait for someone to come from the back to make it. 25 minutes later i showed up to pick up my food, knowing it will be ready and waiting and once i get back to the office I would warm my soup. ![]() The young lady who called said, we will make the change and your order will be ready when you get here, to which I said great. ![]() After 10 minutes or so I received a call from PotBelly that they did not have my soup, to which I said no problem I will have a chicken noodle soup in its place. A farmhouse salad with chicken and a chicken enchilada soup. I received confirmation on the status of my order from that service as verification. The order was placed and prepaid as required by the service. First, I used a third party online service to order my food. But come on, its after 2: 30 on a Thursday afternoon and still the service is horrible. I am a business owner myself and understand challenges that arise which may impact delivering exceptional service or good service for that matter to customers. I do not make it a point to write reviews of restaurants but I have to make an exception today.
